The year was 1971, Columbian cyclist Armando Gallo knew what to do. After deciding to retire, Joanne, a local Chicagoan and dear friend to the store purchased On the Route Bicycles from her mentor, Gallo. Since then, Joanne along with Jose the master mechanic and Cam the Lakeview manager have grown the business to 2 locations in Lakeview/Lincoln Park and Lincoln Square /Ravenswood neighborhoods. The mission of On the Route Bicycles is to serve neighborhood families, casual commuters, and serious cyclists alike. We continually strive to be Chicago's best bike shop, doing the best bike repair.
