BikeExchange & Virtual Race Across America (VRAAM)

BikeExchange are proud to partner with VRAAM and follow Aussie Sports Journalist Rupert Guinness in his epic quest to (virtual) Race Across America to raise awareness for mental health. Something we at BikeExchange believe in passionately due to the simple fact of riding a bike can help reduce mental health issues.

"As little as 60 minutes of physical activity per week could prevent between 12-17% of cases of depression worldwide. It’s one of the most powerful forms of prevention we have" - Associate Professor Simon Rosenbaum

About The Race

Virtual Race Across America: The Challenge of a Life Time

For 36 years RAAM has been challenging ultra cyclists from around the globe to push their physical and mental limits to the farthest reaches. Starting in Oceanside, under one of the longest piers in California, RAAM spans 3000 miles, climbs 175,000 feet, crosses 12 states and finishes at City Dock in Annapolis, Maryland, the east coast sailing mecca.
From 16 – 28 June 2020, the first Virtual Race Across America (VRAAM) will be held, powered by FulGaz, an app that looks and feels as close to riding outdoors as possible. This means that riders all over the world can watch or enter.
VRAAM is a platform for all interested participants and followers to pursue a positive pathway during these challenging times. This exciting and innovative sporting initiative is focused on helping to generate awareness and support for mental health.
